STONINGTON ARCHIVE
AND LIBRARY

STONINGTON, CONNECTICUT. 1997-98. This project was won in an invited competition in August 1996. The building houses the Stonington Historical Society's collection of books and archives. A historic house designed and built by Captain Palmer, notable for discovering Antarctica, sits nearby. Together the two buildings become a new center for the study of local history in this historic district. The 4000-square-foot facility opened June 1998.
