WEST YARMOUTH, GREAT ISLAND, MASSACHUSETTS. 2000-2001. This 4000-sq. ft. house was designed as a retreat for a large expanded family of grandparents, children, and grandchildren. The bending form of the house accommodates to an easy-going lifestyle and is wrapped by a continuous porch that expands the living space into the space of the lawn. Glades penetrating through the live oaks and pines reveal view of the close by ocean. On the second floor children’s rooms all connect with ships ladders to a shared space up under the peak of the gable roof housing bunk beds with skylights above.
