CONCORD PROJECT

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE. 2016. Project for an unbuilt house. Designed for a retiring couple on the south-facing flank of a wooded New Hampshire hillside overlooking Mt. Kearsage in the distance, the plan was designed to flex with the hillside contours providing living areas, study, and bedroom, all on one level. A garage is built in to the east end of house. The second story houses two small guest bedrooms. A writing studio, accessed by a tiny stair, looks out directly at Mt. Kearsage from a third-floor loft.
The main living space opens out with a generous porch to the west, a space which continues into, and blurs with, the only domesticated area of lawn and garden in the otherwise undisturbed forest floor.
